They say that Paris is the City of Light…not just physical illumination at night, but of history, culture, art, fashion, literature, entertainment, ideas, and living. What stands out most to me is how, as Paris is large and congested as many cities, this city is very comfortable to live in, and even to just visit for a while.
Many of the streets are wide with wide sidewalks lined with shade trees. There are cafes and restaurants literally everywhere, and almost always on street corners. You will almost always find a place to sit. And the parks…there are so many parks, some are very large, most have loads of trees and fountains and benches and chairs to sit on. Although there are large numbers of people about, it doesn’t ever feel too crowded. And if it’s people watching you want, Paris has a lot of all the best.

It’s been rainy and dreary in DC for weeks. Literally weeks. The sun and Spring beauty look so appealing. Maybe someday we’ll have a day like that.
